Mostly we see love stories and comedy entertainers in many short films but rarely we do see action thrillers in short films. DEAL is a thriller directed by sruchan kumar under the banner SSR productions. Let’s see in our review how far it has thrilled us.
Plot:
The movie begins with a whimper and ends in a whimper. In between there are gunshots, well-choreographed fights, diamond robbers and lots of leave your brain behind the moments.
To begin with story, starts off with a diamond deal, it is all about stealing diamonds from rich businessman by robbers. The plans executed by them to steal the diamonds, the consequences after stealing them etc forms rest of the story.
Performance:
This film has multiple characters. I don’t know the names of those characters personally. I think firoz, shanu and srinivasu are the lead actors. Sanjay, character name have done fabulous job as dealer. Another looks very stylish and performed well. All characters have done justice to their roles.
Actually, the problem of the film is, it has no central character. Main character comes at the end of the film. There is not much scope for one to perform as there are many characters in the film.
Other departments:
Back ground music is very gripping. Cinematography by DILEEP KUMAR deserves special appreciation. This film is made in different locations, this film is visual treat and His work is exemplary. Dialogues by ARJUN GUNNAALA doesn’t create any impact expect the last dialogue.
Surprisingly this film has few fight sequences, they were designed very well. But special care should have been taken for gun fights.
Director sruchan made this film in very stylishly. Plot is simple and execution is steady. Climax twist is nice.
Analysis :
The initial part of the film is sluggish and drags at parts. Almost half of it is spent in introducing characters. The film catches its pace as it is nearing climax. The use of graphics (gun fights) could have been avoided.
On a whole, deal is made on huge scale by spending some good amount of money. Lack of clarity in screenplay confuses you a little. Superb fights, great camera work, performances are the positives. This film is very stylishly made but with very less substances to keep you hooked and twist in climax will surprise you. For action film lovers this film is a perfect treat for you.
